Attach the Dishwasher to the Granite Top The dishwasher has been rocking back and forth for years because it was never anchored to the bottom of the granite top.
Attach the Dishwasher to the Granite Top I'm going to glue an oak strip to the bottom of the top so I have something to screw into.
Attach the Dishwasher to the Granite Top I cut an oak strip on the table saw to use as a 'nailer'. This will give me a surface to screw the dishwasher bracket into because you can't screw into granite. I painted 2 of the sides black so it doesn't stand out.
Attach the Dishwasher to the Granite Top I lost one of the top brackets that came with the dishwasher so I fabricated another one from some sheet metal I had.
Attach the Dishwasher to the Granite Top I traced the bracket and made a new one. It's not as pretty but it works.
Attach the Dishwasher to the Granite Top Checking the fit of the new bracket
Attach the Dishwasher to the Granite Top The 2 brackets in place before the dishwasher is pushed back.
Attach the Dishwasher to the Granite Top I leveled the dishwasher using the adjustable legs.
Attach the Dishwasher to the Granite Top The washer is also leveled from front to back. I pushed it in so the front of the black seal covers the edge of the side cabinets.
Attach the Dishwasher to the Granite Top I had a tube of Loctite PL530 Mirror, Marble and Granite Glue. Run a bead of the glue along the nailer. Don't put a lot on or it will squish out and make a mess.
Attach the Dishwasher to the Granite Top I smoothed the glue out which removed the excess.
Attach the Dishwasher to the Granite Top I positioned the nailer under the granite top and clamped it in place. I used pieces of scrap wood so the clamps wouldn't scratch the counter top on the top and dent the nailer on the bottom.
Attach the Dishwasher to the Granite Top I used a paint stirer on top to protect the granite. You can get the stirers for free at Home depot.
Attach the Dishwasher to the Granite Top The glue dried over night. I screwed the dishwasher brackets into the nailer. Since I used oak I drilled a small pilot hole so I wouldn't split the wood. The dishwasher is now solid as a rock.
